Information on property price queries

Results are available for all municipalities in Switzerland. In the case of Switzerland's five major cities (Zurich, Basel, Bern, Lausanne and Geneva), district-specific queries are also possible (further details are provided under Information on geographical breakdown).

Apart from the average (median) price for the selected municipality, the results include the 10th, 30th, 70th and 90th percentile values along with the corresponding indicators for the whole of Switzerland (example).

Revision of property prices as of 1.1.2008

For more than 10 years Wüest & Partner has produced market price ranges for the real estate segments of rental housing, floor-ownership and single-family homes, as well as for office, retail and commercial areas. The data is provided for each national municipality as well as for all districts with in the five major cities of Switzerland. As from January 2008 the foundations of this market information have been revised and extended. The revised data now takes into account the most recent municipal structure of the Swiss Federal Office of Statistics, the benchmarks of the latest population and housing census as well as the latest travel-time matrices from IVT from the ETH Zurich. Now, not only are the mean market prices values updated quarterly but also the overall price ranges. In addition, the database of the transaction data for single-family homes and floor-ownership apartments has also been expanded. As a consequence values produced since the beginning of 2008 can differ from those previously published.
